teenager trying to fight off her attacker as she forced into a sand and abducted. i'm bruce johnson, new developments tonight in that abduction, law enforcement agencies have identified the vehicle used in the attack that took place in the parking lot of a target store. the amber alert for the missing female remains in effect tonight. here is more information about that vehicle used in the attack. >> reporter: surveillance video captured the entire vehicle. five people drive up with a -- in a dark green dodge caravan. they grabbed a girl from behind and forced her into the van. >> she was kicking and screaming and yelling. >> reporter: chief deputy says several witnesses immediately called police and provided the full license plate number from the van's rhode island plates. from there police traced the information back to a house in

providence rhode island. >> they have gone by the residence, the van is not there people are not there. >> reporter: they are treating this as an abduction and hours later state police. the victim black female about 17 years old, five foot seven and weighing 140 pounds with brown eyes. police do not know whether the girl knows the people who forced her into the van. >> it could be, absolutely. it could be. >> reporter: it happened at 11:30. it's been a bright and clear day and there were people who saw what happened. from the tape it appears that no one intervened. >> why didn't nobody help her everybody was walking around. >> it's ashamed that the public let stuff like this go on. you've got to stand up for everybody. that's pitiful. >> reporter: my reaction would be to try to stop it's specially because i'm like in

the military. i think it's my duty to do something about it. >> they asked just as many questions at the victim. they don't know where she was walking to. and they do not believe she had a car in the parking lot. they also say she did not shop inside the store. >> everyone if you're related using that type of force to pull someone into a car is very unusual. >> reporter: for now they're hoping someone finds this girl and makes sure she's safe. in stafford county virginia. >> we have the surveillance video posted on our website along with a rhode island tag numbers from the dodge caravan. you can find them again at our website wusa9.com. montgomery county police say they're concerned about the whereabouts about two girls who have not been seen since they left campus. cheyennemarcolina.

she has brown eyes. and strong is described 14-year- old white female. anastasia anybody with information should contact montgomery county police. >> tonight bp is preparing for its next attempt to plug the oil gusher on the gulf. the top kill operation of injecting mud failed. it plans to cut it off and cap it. here is more on what went wrong with the top kill plan. >> reporter: bp announced that its top kill operation on the floor of the gulf has failed after three full days of attempting top kill, we have been unable to over come the flow from the well. we now believe it's time to move on to next option. >> the next option is to cut off broken pipe. that operation will take at least four days.

the right solution. terrell brown cbs news grand aisle louisiana. >> the spill is the worse in u.s. history. and it's now dumped between 18 million and 40 million gallons into the gulf according to government estimates. the massive oil spill will mean higher prices. seafood wholesaler says prices for fresh gulf shrimp have jumped 30 to 35% operators of the seafood market say the supply of gulf shrimp has dropped and some suppliers haven't even taken orders. there's still a huge supply of shrimp, crab meet price -- meat prices were up from 50% from last year we're told. thousands of dead fish have washed up what appears to be tar balls can be seen among the dead fish. >> i've come down here to go fishing and this morning i was

fishing, i was wondering why -- couple ladies over here taking pictures. i said what are they taking pictures of. i walked down here and this is what i found. >> fisherman noticed that fish kill early this morning and contacted authorities. metro police on alert after teenage girl was attacked outside a local metro station it happened last night on walking path. the suspect is still on the loose, but police do have a good description of what he looks like. >> metro police say a 15-year- old girl was sexually assaulted near the green belt metro station. >> that's awful. >> that's pretty crazy that something like that happened near daylight. >> authorities say the 15-year- old just got off the train started walking up the path when a man start approached her, tried to talk to her, followed, then attacked her.

>> i don't really know to say. it's really scary. >> dominic smith takes metro and will walk on the path to go home. >> i used to, but not any more. >> police are looking for a heavy set hispanicic man in his 30s with dark curly hair with a tattoo of a snake on his left arm. >> a little worried, you know, because i do take the metro until late at night. >> reporter: for smith she thinks about carrying pepper spray with her. >> this makes me want to do a little bit more for herself. >> metro says there are security officers that patrol the area at every station but they can't be everywhere this past april we reported a rain at this garage the victim talked only to 9news now. she said she would like to see more video cameras on the parking debt. there are no security cameras on this foot path metro says they reviewed their security and tried to improve it.

in green belt suffer ray chin 9news now. >> police are asking for help in this case if you were in the area or saw anything suspicious last night you should contact police. tonight police are looking for a man on a bike he attacked a woman who was pushing her child in a baby stroller. the woman was able to fight off the man. her child was unarmed. the police say the woman was walking in the stone wall park when the attacker got off his bicycle and sexually asauled her. veterans movie star dennis hopper is dead at the age of 84. easy rider, hopper had a career that spanned more than four decades. he died at his home in los angeles surrounded by family. hopper was at the hollywood walk of fame for the unvailing for his very own star. >> everyone here today they've shown me a world that i would never have seen being a farm boy from city kansas.

major political and social forth in the district offering out reach and social services to its members. this year marked 23rd annual memorial day demonstration of rolling thunder. each year on memoriy day thousands of veterans arrive in the nation's capitol honoring 90,000 americans still missing in might be in action. the rolling thunder is calling on congress to create house select committee on pow and mia of theirs. no need to travel to the beach to cool off. folks in d.c. can take advantage of outdoor pools. the outdoor pools will be open just on weekends until june 21st.

on june 21st the pools will begin their daily operations until august 20th. great weather i take it. >> it's going to be one of those weekends that you're going to want to be able to cool off. temperatures really heating up the next couple of days, really take our rain chances back out of the forecast. best -- that's the chance of rain holding back. there's maybe still a few schools open. the next few days we'll be showing us we've got isolated storm chances holding off until monday afternoon. by tuesday that's when we're going to see the storms back in action. there's the heat back in full force on tuesday. 92, but you have to factor in humidity. it's the heat index, but really feels like when you get that factor, it's going to feel like lower 90s tomorrow and mid 90s on monday. tuesday a little bit cooler as we bring in those storms. even with those temperatures in

the 60s it might feel mild you think it's going to cool things down not much of a breeze to help things out humidity making it a little bit uncomfortable over night i'll stay say air conditioning weather. by the afternoon here is where the heat really starts mid to upper 80s a heat index into the lower 90s. a lot of cloud cover through last morning midday. cleared off the clouds late today. we'll have a lot more sunshine to go through tomorrow. tonight's future guest shows this very well through our afternoon tomorrow. you see lack of clouds tomorrow morning, sunshine, warmer tomorrow afternoon. here is where the forecast starts to break down a little bit though as we go into monday memorial day. this year's scattered thunderstorms mainly north, everybody southern maryland even all the way -- that's where we can still see isolated storms, i think as you head down toward richmond you're out of the storm activity.

so everybody is in the chance of storm monday afternoon but look attitudes, this is when it's going to rain, we're going to have a good bed of showers and thunderstorms, and once that front passes through that's going to end rain chance over night into tuesday. let's get the beach and boating forecast, water temperature lower 70s -- sunday rather we haves one to 2 feet. and temperatures on the water, mid to upper 80s through memorial day. over to the atlantic and farther north you go, water temperature 70-degree water temperature ocean city. sunday forecast mid to upper 70s on the water on the beach and toward 80 degrees. on the water we're towards 80 degrees on the beach, lower maybe even mid 80-degree temperatures coming in. back to washington's weather here over night tonight. again it looks very mild not bad but there is humidity and there's not much of a breeze to

cool things down. nation's capitol we're talking nearly 70 degrees. many of us between those mid to upper 60s and 80s depending on lows and highs. even out west we're getting eastern panhandle it goes to mid 80s lower 80s. 70s forecast it sums it up well here, we're dry and hot and humid tomorrow. ice slated storms coming in monday afternoon that's for the entire area then tuesday that's where it's likely to get showers and thunderstorms tuesday afternoon and tuesday night. wednesday is dry. thursday dry. but then friday morning through friday midday that's next best chance for line of thunderstorms moving in. that's going to usher in very mild dryer air toward next weekend. we'll be below mark. take away from this forecast it's about the heat turning itself on for the rest of the weekend. and then we go into memorial
